Position description
The Department of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Behavioral Neuroscience beginning July 1, 2025. We seek applicants who investigate the neurobiology of behavior. Applicants focused on circuit plasticity or complex function within the cerebral cortex using advanced molecular, cellular, computational, and/or neurophysiological methodologies are especially encouraged to apply. An interest in computational neuroscience approaches is also desirable.
Applicants should be committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and interested in teaching courses in brain sciences, research methodology, data analysis, and/or computational neuroscience approaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or a related discipline is required at the time of appointment; July 1, 2025. Relevant postdoctoral experience and significant publications are expected.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See Table(s): https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2024-25/oct-2024-scales/t1.pdf. Salary ranges for this position are: Associate Professor $78,200 -$101,400. “Off-scale salaries” and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
