Position title: Jr. Specialist
Salary range: The posted UC salary scales [( https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html )] set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 24B for the salary range. The Base Salary range for this position is $51,300 - $54,600.

Position description

A Junior Specialist position is currently open in Dr. Jean-Pyo Lee’s Laboratory at the School of Medicine, University of California Riverside. Dr. Lee’s esteemed research group is actively seeking a highly motivated Junior Specialist to join their dynamic team dedicated to investigating neurovascular and neurogenerative diseases. The ideal candidate will have a strong motivation to excel and will be provided with extensive mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth, and contribute full-time research to cutting-edge projects aimed at stroke therapy using in vitro and in vivo mouse stroke models. This appointment is in a non-senate series.

Riverside is about an hour away from the vibrant and culturally rich community greater Los Angeles area, beaches, ski slopes, and hiking and sightseeing in mountain or desert environments. Housing in the area is very affordable. There is also easy access to the rich cultural amenities of the greater Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

The successful candidate must have a B.S. in in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience or related science areas.

Preferred qualifications

Knowledge of techniques or prior related laboratory experience in stroke, histology and neurobehavioral tests.
