This is an opportunity for a collaborative and creative physician-scientist to have a dramatic impact on clinical research in inland Southern California, and to establish appropriate partnerships with community collaborators and other UC Health campuses. Essential functions include:
• Identify, facilitate and lead SOM-wide clinical research and/or evidence-based clinical treatment opportunities available for dissemination in populations
• Facilitate the development of clinical research opportunities for students, residents, clinicians, and leaders to contribute to a developing research culture and positive learning environment;
• Maintain the continuation of a personal, extramurally funded research program;
• Develop training programs for clinical faculty to provide knowledge of clinical research, development of skills in clinical research grant proposals, and management of clinical research projects.
• Serve as a role model and mentor through the continuation of a clinical practice and preferably participation in clinical trials;
• Collaborate with organizational leaders to ensure financial projections and results accurately reflect strategic goals and broad compliance;
• Develop and manage operational initiatives with measurable outcomes for clinical research;
• Serve as a conduit for clinical research through collaborations with leadership and physicians at UCR SOM, UCR Health and external partners;
• Incorporate UCR SOM’s mission and values to achieve success in expanding clinical research activities.
The successful applicant must qualify for an academic appointment in one of the following series: Ladder Rank Professor, Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the full professor or associate professor rank for the position of Associate Dean for Clinical Research.
