Position description

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of California, Riverside has a need for part-time or full-time Lecturers beginning the Fall Quarter for the 2023/2024 academic year to teach courses in the following areas: Introductory Computer Science, Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Software and Information Systems, Technical Communications and Software Engineering.

Qualifications include a M.S. or a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field, prior teaching experience is preferred.

The initial annual salary for candidates with an MS degree is $79,118 and for candidates with a Ph.D., the salary is $97,304. The salary for the Fall quarter appointment begins October 1, 2023, and ends December 31, 2023; the academic service period for the Fall quarter is September 25, 2023, through December 15, 2023. Salary for Winter quarter appointment begins January 1, 2024, and ends March 31, 2024; the academic service period for Winter is January 3, 2024 through March 22, 2024. Salary for Spring quarter appointment begins April 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2024; the academic service period for the Spring quarter begins March 27, 2024, and ends June 14, 2024. Lecturer appointments are eligible for renewal depending on need, funding, and performance.
