Position description

The Department of Entomology at the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for an Assistant Specialist position. This full-time, fiscal-year position is initially for one year, with possibility of reappointment contingent on funding.

The Woodard Lab is seeking an Assistant Specialist to perform bumble bee research, to assist and lead experiments related to bee behavior, physiology, and nutrition. Applicants should have a M.S.; advanced expertise in bumble bee rearing; molecular techniques including DNA quantitation and spectrophotometric microplate assays; and field experience, including a background in botanical identification and pollinator research.
