Description

The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Mesoamerican Archaeology beginning July 1, 2019. We seek applications from broadly trained anthropological archaeologists with expertise in complex societies of ancient Mesoamerica. Candidates will be expected to teach lower-division as well as upper-division and graduate courses, and will pursue an active field or laboratory program in Mesoamerica in which UCR students can participate. The successful candidate would join a diverse faculty committed to research that examines the intersections of power, identity, ideology, gender, class, race, and ethnicity. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. A PhD in Anthropology is required at time of appointment.
