Position(s): Part-time Lecturer

The Department of History at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for part-time lecturer position for Winter Quarter 2019. Winter Quarter instruction begins January 7, 2019. Beginning salary is approximately $6,082.00 per course. Priority will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching History. A completed M.A. is required and one year of teaching at the university level, with a preference for having completed advance graduate work in History.

The course: HISE 146 The Second World War (4) Lecture, 3 hours;
extra reading, 2 hours; term paper, 1 hour. Prerequisite(s): upper-division standing or consent of instructor. Explores the diplomatic origins of the war; the
fighting in Europe, Asia, and Africa; Nazi oppression in conquered Europe and the destruction of the Jews; the social, economic, and technological impact of
the conflict; and the origins of the Cold War. Credit is awarded for only one of HISE 146 or HISE 146S.
