Description

Position: Pooled Recruitment for Lecturers in Film Production and Musical Theatre 2018-19

Starting Date: September 27, 2018 (Fall); January 7, 2019 (Winter); or April 1, 2019 (Spring) and continuing for 10 weeks.

The Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production seeks to develop a pool of highly qualified lecturers to teach directing and film making courses in each term of the 2018-19 academic year, as well as a lecturer to teach a Musical Theatre course that focuses on theory and practicum for performing musical theatre, including song interpretation and characterization and concluding with a showcase cabaret performance.

Courses include (courses listed below may vary in number and quarter of offering):

TFDP 150A (Intro to Directing - a large format course) – Fall quarter
TFDP 154 (Intro to Filmmaking - a large format course) - Fall quarter
TFDP 155 (Intro to Digital Film Production) – Winter Quarter
TFDP 156A (Digital Film Production: Intermediate Filmmaking) – Winter quarter
TFDP 156B (Digital Film Production: Advanced Filmmaking) – Spring quarter
TFDP 157 (Introduction to Film Editing) – Spring quarter
TFDP 180F (Theatre Practicum: Musical Theatre) - Winter quarter

Appointment will begin September 27, 2018 (Fall); January 7, 2019 (Winter) or April 1, 2019 (Spring) and continue for one quarter, with a salary of approx. $5,933 per course. Positions are contingent upon funding.

Required Qualifications: MFA or PhD in film production, theatre and/or screen directing, musical theatre performance and/or directing or related field, or a minimum of 3 years’ equivalent professional experience. For the film courses, expertise using most recent digital film equipment and Premier Pro CC required.
University teaching experience is desired.
