VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPANISH

University of California, Riverside

Full-time Visiting Assistant Professor (Spanish Peninsular Literature and Culture):

We seek to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor, specializing in Spanish Peninsular literature and culture, sub-field open, period from 18th to 21st century. Strong research and teaching interest in film and media studies; critical theory/political philosophy; GLBTQ studies; visual arts; and innovative combinations of these, are particularly welcome.

UCR is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate body. Its mission is explicitly linked to providing routes to educational success for underrepresented and first-generation college and graduate students. A demonstrable commitment to this mission in research and teaching is a preferred qualification.

Duties include teaching five courses for the academic year, research, contributing to department service and mentoring graduate students. Applicants must have fulfilled all requirements for the PhD in a relevant field by time of appointment: July 1, 2018.

Employment period: Appointment will be for one year beginning July 1, 2018, with the possibility for renewal to a second year.

Salary range: $60,000 annually
