Position: 50% Lecturer/Director. (One lecturer will be hired for each TFDP 170 directing slot)

Duties: The Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production seeks two lecturers to direct our departmental productions for the 2018-19 season: Dr Faustus by Christopher Marlowe (Fall 2018) and Marisol by José Rivera (Spring 2019). Each director will be appointed as a lecturer for the course TFDP 170 – Performance in Production; they will guide undergraduate actors and work with a full production design team. At the end of the quarter, the directors will assign grades to each student in the class based on their performances throughout rehearsal and performances. The position is contingent on the availability of funds. The duties for the director of Dr Faustus include editing the original text to a 90-minute version.

Salary: Approximately $8899.00 per course per quarter

Qualifications: Required: MA, MFA, Ph.D. or equivalent experience (3 years professional and/or university directing experience) and a record of professional and/or university directing.

Preferred: Teaching experience at the university level is desired. UCR is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate student body.
