Position: Visiting Assistant Professor in Archive Management
Starting Date: Spring Quarter 2018: instruction begins April 2, 2018
Salary: Present per course salary: $7,000.00 (50% employment)

Qualifications;
Minimum requirements are a PhD in History, Public History, American Studies, Archival Management or a related field. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a strong track record in public practice, focused particularly on archival management, including repositories of textual, digital, and material objects. The department expects the successful candidate to maintain an active public history research program during the period of appointment. Additionally, candidates should have teaching experience in a university context, professional experience in archival management, and a willingness to participate in a classroom project that provides students with practical skills and professional development in archival management.

Duties:
Duties include the instruction of Archive Practicum (HIST-263J) which is the second course in a sequence of two graduate courses, in Archive Management. Archive Practicum requires expertise in the professional practice of archives management and, ideally, affiliation with or access to a working archive. Duties also include research, contributing to service as associated with participating in the intellectual life of the department, and graduate student mentoring.
