The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) invites applications for three open-rank faculty positions in Advanced Materials beginning the 2018/19 academic year.
We are seeking highly motivated teachers and interdisciplinary researchers with demonstrated expertise in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. Junior candidates are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program in the Department. Senior candidates must have a demonstrated record of success in the appropriate field. All candidates must have a doctorate in a relevant discipline (Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or closely related fields) and be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental engineering or chemical engineering and materials science and engineering.
The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering enrolls approximately 450 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The 22 tenure-track faculty include one NAE member, nine NSF/DOE/DOD early career awardees, and multiple elected fellows in professional societies. This productive and collaborative faculty led $12 million of active research projects in 2016-17. Opportunities for collaboration exist through multiple college-level and campus-wide initiatives, including the Center for Agriculture and Food Enterprise (CAFÉ), the Water Resource Center (WRC), the School of Medicine (SOM), the School of Public Policy (SPP), the Winston Chung Global Energy Center (WCGEC), UC-KIMS Center of Innovative Materials for Energy and Environment (UC-KIMS CIME) and the College of Engineering’s Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT).
