Position description

The Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside is recruiting a faculty member in the Department of the Internal Medicine in Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. We seek a nocturnist for overnight hospitalist shifts who is devoted to medical education and will participate in part-time and/or full-time inpatient clinical practice in Internal Medicine within an academic setting. Experience in chronic disease management and interest in working with interdisciplinary teams are preferred. The position offers excellent opportunities for teaching and pursuing a career in academic medicine with time dedicated to teaching and scholarly activity. Successful candidate will practice at the UC Riverside School of Medicine’ affiliated hospitals in the Riverside and surrounding areas.

The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree and be eligible to practice in the State of California by the time of employment. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine and hold current DEA, BLS and ACLS license. Successful candidates will be also expected to show a strong commitment to education of medical students and residents, as well as participate in creative activities, University and public service. Positions are dependent upon funding. Applicant must qualify for UC Riverside and our affiliated hospitals medical staff privileges. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
