The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of California, Riverside (http://www.physics.ucr.edu/) invites highly qualified individuals to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of experimental Biophysics. The appointment will be made at the assistant professor level and will be available as early as July 1, 2018.
The main selection criteria will be demonstrated excellence in research and future promise. The successful candidate is expected to establish an outstanding and well-funded research program involving graduate students and postdoctoral scientists, and to contribute to departmental teaching at all levels. The search is primarily focused on experimental soft condensed matter, biological physics, and quantitative biology. This appointment will be part of the future hires in the newly formed Interdisciplinary Center for Quantitative Modeling in Biology (ICQMB) at UCR to enhance and expand existing strengths in the area of Quantitative Biology and Biophysics in the Physics and Astronomy and other departments on campus. Candidates for this position are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics, or a related field. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualification.
