Position: Lecturer, 40%

Dates: Winter Quarter 2018. Instruction begins January 8, 2018 and ends March 16, 2018.

The Department of Dance at University California, Riverside is searching for a lecturer in Latin American Social Dance.

Responsibilities: Candidate will teach two multi-level studio dance courses (DNCE 075A, DNCE 075B) to meet twice weekly for winter quarter of Academic Year 2018. Instruction is scheduled on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 12:40-2:00 p.m. and 2:10-3:40 p.m.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have 5 years teaching experience either in professional dance studios or college environments. Preference will be given to candidates who can relate movement instruction to cultural and historical context. A history of choreographing for performance is a plus.

Salary: $7120 per quarter, pending budget approval.

UCR Department of Dance offers curricula leading to a B.A. in Dance, an M.F.A. in Experimental Choreography, and a Ph.D. in Critical Dance Studies. These innovative programs continue to influence the field internationally. The Department of Dance, one of 20 in our College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, is housed in the AIA award- winning Arts Building with several large studios.
