We are no longer accepting applications for this recruitment

Description

The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position in human biological anthropology beginning July 1, 2018. We seek applications from broadly trained biological anthropologists who are concerned with human health via diet, nutrition, disease, adaptability, and plasticity (i.e., developmental plasticity, neuroplasticity, epigenetics) in contemporary living populations with a regional focus in the Americas, Asia, or Southeast Asia. This position will strengthen the department's combination of science and social science to better understand humanity’s health and well-being from a broad, cross-cultural perspective. The position may include regional crossovers (African American Studies, Asian Studies, Chicano Studies, Ethnic Studies, Hispanic Studies, Southeast Asian Studies) and campus-wide connections made via the Medical School, Biology, Environmental Sciences, and Neuroscience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower-division anthropology courses as well as upper-division and graduate courses in the field of specialization. A PhD in Anthropology is required by the start of appointment July 1, 2018. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Complete applications must include a cover letter of interest describing current and future research and teaching directions, a current CV, a statement on contributions to diversity, copies of up to three publications, evidence of teaching excellence, and the names and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin October 9, 2017, and will continue until the position is filled. Applications and supporting material received by October 9 will receive full consideration. Electronic submission is strongly preferred.
