Position: Assistant Professor of Clinical-X, Open Ranks – Family Medicine

The Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside anticipates openings for Professor of Clinical X at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor level for clinical educators to participate in teaching and scholarly activities. These positions are full-time academic appointments in the Professor of Clinical X Series Senate Non-Tenure to practice at the UC Riverside School of Medicine’s affiliated hospitals in the Riverside, Palm Springs and surrounding areas. Titles in this series are assigned to academically qualified individuals who are occupied full-time in the service of the University, whose predominant responsibilities are in teaching and clinical service, and who engage in creative activities.

Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.

Requirements – Applications are being sought from degreed candidates eligible for licensure in the State of California by the time of employment. Positions are dependent upon funding. Academic rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine. The Clinical X series is designed for clinical scholars with major clinical responsibilities who are outstanding teachers and whose creative activities are often more broadly aimed at the improvement of clinical practice, health delivery, and/or medical education. Individuals in the Clinical X series should publish the results of their scholarly activities and present them at meetings. Clinical teaching is required. Applicant must qualify for UC Riverside and our affiliated hospitals medical staff privileges. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
