Position description

POSITIONS: The Department of Physics & Astronomy anticipates hiring temporary part-time Instructors for a variety of lower-division, general physics courses PHYS 002A,B,C, PHYS 40 A,B,C, and course descriptions can be found on page 383 of the course catalog: http://registrar.ucr.edu/content/pdfs/catalog/Catalog_1415_UpdatedFinal_issuu.pdf. The courses will be taught in the Winter and Spring quarters for the 2015-2016 Academic Year. Winter Quarter runs January 4, 2016 – March 18, 2016; and Spring Quarter runs March 23, 2016 - June 10, 2016. *All Positions are contingent upon funding.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics and/or Astronomy to be considered for a General Physics Lecture courses. Teaching experience at the college level is desired for all positions. UCR is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate student body. Its mission is explicitly linked to providing routes to educational success for underrepresented and first-generation college students. A commitment to this mission is a preferred qualification.
