Position(s): Part- time Lecturer

Starting Date: Fall Quarter Instruction begin September 24, 2015 and ends December 4, 2015.
Winter Quarter Instruction begins January 4, 2016 and ends March 11, 2016.
Spring Quarter Instruction begins March 28, 2016 and ends June 3, 2016.

Salary: $5,391.31 per quarter, pending budgetary approval

M.A., 2 years college level teaching
PhD preferred
Strong commitment to teaching excellence

Duties:

Responsibilities include: Teach one undergraduate course per quarter in Percussion Ensemble. Directing rehearsals, repertoire selection and arrangement, teaching instrumental technique on percussion instruments, collaborate with composition faculty and students in the study and performance of new works for percussion ensemble, organize and supervise the Music Department collection of percussion instruments, collaborate with the UCR Orchestra, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble on the preparation of the percussion section, and organizing concerts with the percussion ensemble inside and outside the campus.

The Department of Music is housed in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences on the Riverside campus of the University of California and offers the bachelor’s degree (BA) in music or music and culture, as well as master’s and doctoral degrees (with emphases in composition, ethnomusicology, and musicology). Departmental offices, classrooms, and performance spaces are located in the ARTS Building.
