Position description

The University of California Riverside (UCR) School of Medicine invites applications for the position of Chair, of Family Medicine.

Reporting to the Chair of the Division of Clinical Sciences, UCR School of Medicine, the Chair of Family Medicine will be responsible for the overall management, academic planning, and budget, recruitment of faculty, oversight of both undergraduate and graduate medical education, resource allocation, and program development for Family Medicine in the Division of Clinical Sciences. This position will also provide leadership and direction in meeting the mission of the School of Medicine.

The successful candidate must possess an M.D. degree or both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees and current board certification in Family Medicine. The candidate must qualify for appointment to a(Senate) Professor in Residence Series position (Associate and/or Full Professor Level) as well as meet the eligibility requirements for a medical license in the State of California. Candidates should have a strong record of scholarly activity, evidenced by high quality peer reviewed publications. The successful candidate must possess an excellent clinical record of expertise and a strong commitment to medical student and resident education. Finally, the candidate must demonstrate appropriate administrative experience and a proven record of clinical, academic, and administrative leadership qualities.
