Position description
The School of Education at the University of California, Riverside has a need for part-time or full-time Lecturers beginning the Fall Quarter for the 2023/2024 academic year to teach courses. These positions are subject to the availability of funding and, depending on the circumstances, may be taught remotely. Other courses may be added to this list as needed to cover one-time openings. Priority consideration will be given to individuals previously appointed as a Lecturer with the SOE.
Qualifications:
Candidates will have either an advanced degree (Ph.D. or Ed. D. degree preferred) or a Master’s degree and a minimum of five years of demonstrated teaching experience in Education or a related field. We are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise in teaching linguistically and culturally diverse students in culturally responsive and sustaining ways.
Responsibilities:
Teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate courses, depending on the need and the candidate’s experience and availability. Duties will include full responsibility for course preparation and presentation, including but not limited to, lectures, preparation and grading of exams, office hours outside of class, and supervision of teaching assistants or readers if assigned.
Service Dates:
Fall Quarter 2023: September 25 - December 15, 2023
Winter Quarter 2024: January 3 – March 22, 2024
Spring Quarter 2024: March 27 – June 14, 2024
Summer Quarter 2024: Beginning June 24, 2024
Salary:
See Table 15 https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/july-2022-salary-scales/t15.pdf for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $64,329 (full-time annual base rate), prorated according to appointment percentage.
For advancement information for Lecturers, please refer to the (IX) systemwide bargaining unit contract for the Non-Senate Academic Instructional Lecturer, Unit 18 between the University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Qualifications
