Applications are invited for multiple Visiting Assistant Professor positions for the academic year 2023-2024 (the number of positions is contingent upon available funding). The positions are open to applicants from all research areas in Pure and Applied Mathematics. A PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field is required by the starting time of the appointment. Preference is given to candidates with strong research synergy with existing programs. The teaching load is two courses per quarter, for a total of six quarterly courses per year. Each quarter is approximately 11 weeks. In addition to teaching, the applicants will be responsible for attending advanced seminars and working on research projects.
This is initially a one-year appointment and is renewable for up to a third year term. If a decision for reappointment is made, it will be based on an assessment of the candidate’s demonstrated competence in research, teaching and other assigned duties that may include University and community service. Course evaluations and student comments are considered. Other evidence of teaching excellence may also be considered, if available.
Applicants should log on to https://aprecruit.ucr.edu/JPF01674 to submit their cover letter, curriculum vitae, Statement of Research, Statement of Teaching, Statement of Contributions to Diversity, a list of publications, recent official teaching evaluations, and a minimum of 4 letters of recommendation.
