Starting Date: Fall 2022 (9/19/22-13/22), Winter 2023 (01/04/2023-03/26/23), Spring 2023 (03/29/2023-06/20/2023)

Salary: Based on rate of approximately $7,150.00 per course.

The Department of Philosophy at the University of California, Riverside is seeking qualified applicants for Lecturer positions during the 2022-23 academic year. We anticipate needing to hire instructors for some or all of the following courses. Positions are contingent on available funding. Applications for Fall Quarter courses must be received by July 25, 2022, and by October 15, 2022 for Winter and Spring. All instruction will be in person. The Fall 2022 schedule is indicated below. Winter and Spring 2023 schedules are TBD. The initial review of applications will begin on July 25, 2022; applications must be received by then to be assured of consideration for the Fall. In addition, preference will be given to internal prior Pre-Six candidates.

Philosophy 118: Personal Identity [TR, 5-6:20pm]
Philosophy 130: Epistemology [TR 11am-12:20pm
Philosophy 161: Moral Theory [TR 3:30-4:50pm]
Philosophy 169: Topics in Value Theory [TR 12:30-1:50 pm]

Winter and Spring 2023 –
Philosophy 10: Language, Mind and Reality
Philosophy 132: Philosophy of Language
Philosophy 134: Philosophy of Mind
Philosophy 120G: Plato and Aristotle

The position requires a Master’s in a related field and one year of teaching experience at the college level. Advanced graduate work in Philosophy (ABD or Ph.D.) is a preferred qualification.

Duties: Undergraduate teaching of the course listed above.
