Position description

Position: Visiting Assistant Professor in Playwriting

Duties: The Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production seeks to hire a highly qualified Visiting Assistant Professor to teach courses in playwriting during the 2022-2023 academic year. Candidates would teach the following graduate and undergraduate courses:

• TFDP 164B: Intermediate Playwriting (undergraduate) (Winter)
• TFDP 164C: Advanced Playwriting (undergraduate) (Spring)
• CWPA: 264: Playwriting (graduate) (Winter & Spring)

Additional duties include mentoring graduate students and overseeing thesis projects, as well as consultation with fellow faculty on the department's two playwriting festivals: Playworks (undergraduate) and NPF (graduate).

Start Date: The appointment will run for two quarters (Winter 2023 and Spring 2023), beginning on January 1, 2023 and continuing through June 30 2023.

Salary: Annual prorated pay will be $70,200, dependent on experience. Positions are contingent upon funding.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or MFA. in relevant field.
