Position description

Lecturer in Korean Literature and Cinema & Comparative Literature

The Department of Comparative Literature and Languages at the University of California, Riverside, seeks to appoint a part time lecturer in Korean Literature and Cinema & Comparative Literature to teach during the 2021-2022 academic year.

All appointments are contingent upon the appointee being able to provide, in accord with Federal law, evidence of authorization to work in the United States.

Starting Date:
The first day of Winter quarter is January 3, 2022.

Salary:
Present lecturer salary is approximately $7,118 per course, based on 100% annual salary of $56,945 (pending final budget approval.) Appointment is eligible for renewal depending on need, funding and performance.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements are an M.A. in Korean Literature and/or Cinema, Comparative Literature, or a related field; applicants who hold a Ph.D. or are ABD are also encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to candidates with experience and success in teaching Korean Literature and Cinema & Comparative Literature at an American university.

Duties:
Duties consist in the instruction of 2 courses in Winter 2022:

Korean 47 (AST 47/MCS 47), "Introduction to Korean Film"
Korean 112 (AST 112), "Modern Korean Literature”
