Position title: Lecturer/Director

Position description

The Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production seeks to hire qualified lecturers with strong records of research, teaching, and direction to direct department mainstage productions in the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters in person.

The directors will be appointed as lecturers for the course TFDP 170: Performance in Production and will guide undergraduate actors and work with a full production design team. At the end of the quarter, the directors will assign grades to each student in the class based on their performances throughout rehearsal and performances.

The appointments begin on September 23, 2021 (Fall); January 3, 2022 (Winter); and March 28, 2022 (Spring) and continue for one quarter, with a salary of approx. $9490.00 per course. Positions are contingent upon funding.

Fall quarter production: Brown Face by Carissa Atallah
Winter quarter production: Men on Boat by Jaclyn Backhaus
Spring quarter production: Red Oleanders by Rabindranath Tagore

Qualifications: Required: MA, MFA, Ph.D. or equivalent experience (3 years professional and/or university directing experience) and a record of professional and/or university directing.

Preferred: Teaching and/or directing experience at the university level is desired.
