Position description

The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Riverside has needs for part-time Lecturers beginning Winter Quarter for the 2019-20 academic year to teach courses in the following broad areas:
• Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology
• Air Quality Systems
• Biotechnology & Bioremediation
• Computation and Molecular Modeling
• Energy Conversion and Storage
• Water Quality Systems

Candidates interested in either the part-time or full-time position as a Lecturer should have at least a master's degree, with a Ph.D. degree preferred. Evidence of successful teaching experience at the College or University level and/or industrial experience in Chemical and Environmental Engineering are required.

Salary for winter quarter appointments begins January 1, 2020 and ends March 31, 2020; the academic service period for winter is January 2, 2020 through March 20, 2020. The Salary for spring quarter appointment begins April 1, 2020, and ends June 30, 2020; the academic service period for spring quarter begins March 25, 2020, and ends June 12, 2020.

Salary: Based on 100% annual salary of $68,692. Appointments are eligible for renewal depending on need, funding and performance.

The Lecturers Unit (IX) is a systemwide bargaining unit of Non-Academic Instructional Lecturers who provide vital instructional services at UC campuses and medical centers. The unit is represented by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).
